To Styria by Sennair Helicopter

Styria is diverse: mountains, sports, culture and cosiness - everything is possible. Sennair pilot Max Percht is at home in Styria and has provided below the best tips for a successful trip to the "Green Mark" by Sennair VIP helicopter:

Schladming-Dachstein

Experience impressive sights of glorious mountain peaks, pristine snow-covered landscapes and tranquil forests during a sightseeing flight on board the Sennair Helicopter. This wonderful experience can be enjoyed during a sightseeing flight over the Schladming Dachstein Region. Planning a stay in this region? Take the Sennair Helicopter for a stress- and traffic-free flight to Schladming and you will already be delighted by the magnificent mountain world around the Dachstein during your approach.

In winter, ten ski mountains promise every skiing enthusiast feelings of elation. With an altitude of up to 2,700 metres, the region offers 230 kilometres of pistes. The main attraction is the ski region of Dachstein-Schladming with the 4-mountain ski resort Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. With wonderfully clear winter air and 123 kilometres of continuous pistes, nothing here stands in the way of fun on the pistes. The region is part of the Ski amadé network where 270 lifts and 760 kilometres of pistes can be used with just one ski pass. In addition, there are 70 km of groomed winter hiking trails and 200 kilometres of groomed cross-country ski tracks.

Enjoy a stop at one of the quaint huts in bright sunshine and treat yourself to regional culinary specialities. The proverbial Styrian hospitality will not disappoint you. Creative, down-to-earth and regional - that is the "alpine cuisine" of the well-known four-Toque chef Richard Rauch. And all this surrounded by the special flair of the winter world around the Dachstein.

The region offers its visitors many possibilities in winter as well as in summer. This region is a popular area for mountain bike tours, downhill skiing on the Planai and hiking in the wonderful mountain world. Styrian cordiality and numerous amenities can be experienced at the hotels in Schladming and the surrounding area.

Schladming is located in north-western Upper Styria in the upper Enns Valley. The Dachstein is located to the north of Schladming and the Niedere Tauern is situated in southern direction. To the west, Schladming borders the state of Salzburg.

On board the Sennair VIP helicopter, make sure that you take a look at the Dachstein - at almost 3,000 metres, Styria’s highest mountain. In addition to the Dachstein UNESCO World Heritage Site, let your gaze wander further across the Schladming Tauern and the gentle mountain slopes of the Grimming peak, the Donnersbachtal valley and the Sölktal Nature Park. The panoramic view extends over Austria’s Alpine peaks with the Grossglockner and stretches to the plains of the Czech Republic and Slovenia. Pure adrenaline and endless freedom – only a flight by Sennair Helicopter offers you these unique experiences.

Red Bull Ring in Spielberg

Take the Sennair Helicopter and fly to the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg to treat yourself to an extraordinary day in the Murtal district. Experience Formula 1 or Moto GP races at the former Österreichring (Austrian Circuit). Combine this with an arrival and departure by Sennair Helicopter - including impressive views of the mountains surrounding the Red Bull Ring. In addition to motor sports, Styrian hospitality can be enjoyed here too. Restaurant Schloss Gabelhofen, Hotel G'Schlössl Murtal, Schönberghof or the Bull's Lande at the Red Bull Ring offer Styrian hospitality at its best.

GRAZ – culture, southern flair and shopping

Take the Sennair Helicopter to Graz and enjoy the beautiful historic Old Town (together with the Eggenberg Palace UNESCO World Heritage Site) with the world-famous clock tower on the Schlossberg (Castle hill). Experience the capital of Styria - you will be delighted. The city on the Mur River, with the Mur Island and the Museum of Contemporary Art (Kunsthaus) as one of its landmarks, is always an experience. Stroll through the small alleys and across historic squares with cosy cafés, restaurants and boutiques. Take a walk through Herrengasse, a baroque grand boulevard that connects Hauptplatz (main square) and Jakominiplatz. Here, and in the many other squares and alleys, you can feel the southern flair of Graz in a special way. More than 2000 hours of sunshine a year and - due to the mild climate - the almost Mediterranean way of life make this city a destination worth visiting all year round. Graz and Sennair await you.

Weinschloss Thaller

Let Sennair Helicopter take you to south-eastern Styria. Surrounded by a hilly landscape, the castle and vineyard of the Thaller Family is located above Maierhofen near Großwilfersdorf in the district of Hartberg-Fürstenfeld. Situated near the Loipersdorf spa resort, the well-known vintner and red wine pioneer Koarl Thaller and his family rebuilt a castle according to an old design in 2006. The estate boasts 25 hectares of vineyards and blends very harmoniously into the picturesque surroundings of Styria’s Thermal Spa and Volcanic Region. This wonderful ambience is ideal for small and large celebrations, such as christenings, weddings, birthdays, etc., in the romantic castle courtyard with arcades and its own castle chapel. Or enjoy typical Styrian delicacies and the excellent wines of the Thaller Family in the traditional wine tavern. The fantastic view across the gently rolling vineyards and Riegersburg Fortress is included. The Thaller Family will be happy to show you the castle and wine cellar during a guided tour. Sampling the wines is of course also possible.

Steirereck am Pogusch - restaurant and accommodation

One of Styria’s most famous restaurants can be reached within a short time by Sennair Helicopter. Experience Styrian cuisine at its finest here at the Steirereck and as guest of the Reitbauer Family. And if you want to spend the night at the Steirereck – rooms surrounded by nature at an altitude of 1,000 metres offer the best for your well-being. Something special for nature lovers is the "Backhendl-Picknick" (fried chicken picnic) at a romantic spot on the Pogusch Pass. The cosy restaurant serves gourmet cuisine and has its own helicopter landing pad.

No matter what time of year and which Styrian destination you choose - you won't regret it. The Sennair team will be happy to provide non-binding advice about the many possibilities.
